The Abington Area Joint Recreation Board conducts its public meetings on the 3rd Thursday of each month in 2008. Meetings are held 7 - 9 PM at the Clarks Summit Borough Building at 304 S. State Street Clarks Summit, PA. 18411.

The various business activities of the AAJRB are conducted and reported.

The public is invited to attend and encouraged to participate during the opportunity for Public Comment or during open discussion about park operations and plans.

Master Site Plan Created by Abington Area Joint Recreation Board a Reality

Responding to a survey of Abington residents, the Abington Area Joint Recreation Board (AAJRB) has designed a summer-long calendar of events for all ages. Most activities will take place at the Abington Area Community Park, which is in the midst of a makeover.

"The park isn't just getting an aesthetic and functional makeover," said 2008 Summer Program Chair Ashley Goff. "It's also getting a social makeover, as we put out the virtual welcome mat for residents and visitors to enjoy time there."

Keystone College students challenge some varsity woodchip piles on our hiking trails.  At halftime the Keystone team had a slight advantage.

Lackawanna County Commissioners Mike Washo and Corey O'Brien, and State Rep. Jim Wanzsac led a delegation of AAJRB volunteers, municipal officials and project sponsors as ground was broken in late April for the Abington Community Garden.
